Ibrahim Omar; However i’m far away from Esad, i’m still scared to die by his bombs while sleeping.

Remaining- From  march 2011 till now over 60.000 people died during the Syrian civil war and 700.000 people took refuge in other countries. Some cities are entirely destroyed. The remaining people are trying to survive in more and more bad conditions. This series is not about the explosions, neither about the conflicts, nor dead people, but about the effects of war. It shows the relationship of the remaining people with the remaining places and their environments.

–   Bassam; I’ve lost four family members.

Photographer- Cihad Caner was born in 1990. Currently he is based in Istanbul, studying journalism at Marmara University. Concerning the art of photography he tries to stay close to his own past. Experiences and the relation between human being and the environment they live in. He approaches documentary photography on different dimension. He works for local Turkish NGOs. With these NGOs he has been to different countries to work on photography projects. Beside his photography experiences he has worked on several videoart projects.   Photographed and written by Cihad Caner
