Road of love – Mansoreh Motamedi

Mansoreh Motamedi is a Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina-based photographer born in Tehran, Iran. She has been working as a photographer since 1997, making documentary photographs throughout the world, including Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, KSA, Turkey, and now, Bosnia.

Iran –

The seven-year Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988) killed thousands of Iranians. Many bodies of the martyrs back. But it still has not returned after many years of other martyrs. Or unknown turn into martyrs were buried. Mothers and wives of martyrs will go to the cemetery to visit the graves of martyrs weekend.

Martyr in Islam is very sacred and respected by many people to the martyrs and their families remained. Families of martyrs, martyr Photo Frame hold in their homes because the only memorial of martyrs, pictures of them. Also, pictures of martyrs are painted on city walls.

Also Every year hundreds of thousand Iranians visit the fronts of the Iran-Iraq war  1980-1988).During there new year (Noruz) holiday. The pilgrims travel there from all over the country to  Visit the places where their relatives died. Iran lost over half a million soldiers during the 8 years war.
