Pauline Fargue is a performer, video artist, and sculptor whose diverse forms of expression are united by photography. For twelve years she has been arranging her photos in notebooks (diaries, philosophical journals, archives) examining all aspects of her life: familial, romantic, social. These are storehouse-notebooks where she stocks words, encounters, stories, the photographs that she folds, glues, cuts, reoccurring tirelessly over the pages. Following three years of travels and investigations in Germany, published by Discipula Editions Tommaso Tanini’s H. Said He Loved Us draws on the story of the GDR and the German Ministry for State Security (STASI) to explore the feelings of oppression and dread caused by living in a state of constant suspicion and diffidence.

Radical is something “deep acting; that invests a problem from the essential principles “according to the Great Dictionary of Italian Salvatore Battaglia. Based on this definition, the photographer Piero Martinello has traveled Italy looking for men and women who, each in his own way and for different reasons, have embraced radical choices and lifestyles. Folli, ravers, criminals, devotees, cloistered nuns: the subjects chosen by Martinello come to life in a series of portraits in which the photographic language is expressed sometimes in pure form, sometimes grafted on elements of the iconography vernacular (passport, holy cards, pictures signs), in a concept album where the face becomes the key to investigate the human need to undertake the extremes of life and external to the conventional ways.
